The total number of unemployed persons stood at 196,000.
According to the administrative data of the National Employment Service, the number of registered jobseekers amounted to 245,000 at the end of the month, down about 2.8% year-on-year.
In the period spanning December 2022-February 2023, the number of unemployed persons aged 15–74 rose to 199,000, representing an increase of 15,000 compared to the same period a year before.
Among males, the number of unemployed persons was 108,000, and the unemployment rate was up by 0.4 percentage points to 4.2%. Among females, the number of unemployed people was 91,000, and the unemployment rate was 4%.
The number of unemployed people aged 15–24 years was 34,000, with an unemployment rate of 11.2%. This age group accounted for 17% of all unemployed. The unemployment rate for the 25–54 age group rose by 0.4 percentage points to 3.7%, while that for the 55–74 age group increased by 0.2 percentage points to 3.2%.
The average duration of job search was 9 months, and 30.7% of the unemployed had been looking for a job for at least a year.
