According to a new labor market analysis by HR service provider WHC Group and the Oeconomus Economic Research Foundation, only about 19% of working-age individuals are employed in positions where home office is possible.
The remainder of respondents are either working jobs unsuitable for remote work or employed by companies that do not permit it.
Among those who do work from home, 68% are satisfied with the current arrangement, typically spending two days a week working remotely.
However, some 39% of these workers report receiving no support for their home office setup, despite the potential for improved efficiency if financial aid – such as utility or internet subsidies – or equipment were provided.
