Pilot training center to be set up in Hévíz

Norwegian investors Central European Aviation Cluster and Pilot Flight Academy will establish a pilot training center in Héviz (about 160 km west of Budapest) through an investment of EUR 15 million, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The center is scheduled to start courses in the fall and will train 300 pilots a year, the minister said.

Stig Eyde, head of Central European Aviation Cluster, said they received a lot of help from the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) in taking the investment decision and can see huge potential at Héviz-Balaton Airport.

Frode Granlund, managing director and owner of Pilot Flight Academy, said the academy is one of the biggest pilot training centers in Europe, which is active in ten countries.
