The pharmaceutical company described the facility as Hungary’s largest single-space warehouse operated by a manufacturer for finished pharmaceutical products.

Located in the HelloParks industrial park in Fót, the center covers nearly 20,000 sqm, including approximately 1,000 sqm of office space. Nearly 60 Egis employees participate in its daily operation.

The facility stores Egis’ finished products and handles deliveries to domestic and export customers. The company said rising production volumes and corresponding storage requirements prompted the development, which follows several strategic investments in its Hungarian pharmaceutical value chain.

The center will enable more unified, transparent and efficient warehousing operations while providing a modern infrastructure for meeting customer needs, Egis said.

“With the Fót facility, which can accommodate 30,000 pallets, we have established Hungary’s largest single-space warehouse operated by a manufacturer for finished pharmaceutical products. This development was necessary because of Egis’ role in the domestic market, growing production volumes and export activities spanning more than 100 countries,” said Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis.

“We rank first in Hungary’s pharmaceutical market by the number of packs sold, making it particularly important that manufacturing is supported by modern, integrated and reliable finished-product logistics infrastructure. This also helps ensure that our products reach patients on time.”

Controlled Storage Conditions

The warehouse meets modern pharmaceutical requirements and European regulatory expectations, according to the company. It provides controlled storage at temperatures of 2-8 degrees Celsius and 15-25 degrees Celsius and complies with strict environmental and fire safety requirements.

Its technical specifications and temperature-control systems were tailored to pharmaceutical operations. Egis employees, equipment and the company’s own IT system support its operation.

The company said the investment also supports broader efforts to strengthen pharmaceutical supply chain resilience, which has become a priority in Europe in recent years. Strictly regulated storage and distribution conditions help maintain product quality, availability and traceability, all of which contribute to the safe supply of medicines to patients.

“Our agreement with Egis demonstrates that modern, sustainable industrial properties with high technical standards also provide a strategically important operational foundation for pharmaceutical companies. We are delighted that the HelloParks megapark in Fót is home to this major development,” said Rudolf Nemes, CEO of HelloParks.
