German carmaker Audi is establishing a vehicle development division at its unit in Hungary, Audi Hungaria Motor managing director Thomas Faustmann said on Monday.

Setting up the division will create 70 jobs for engineers, Mr Faustmann said at an event marking the tenth anniversary of the Hungarian unit’s engine development centre.

Audi has so far invested more than HUF 9bn in engine development at its base in Gyor (NW Hungary). Staff at the engine development centre has risen to about 150 from 60 at the start.
