Tokaj Kereskedőház sold 250,000 bottles of wine in the US last year thanks to a contract with membership warehouse chain Costco, Kiss said. A new contract could generate sales on the same scale, he added.
About 3 million of the 7 million bottles of wine Tokaj Kereskedőház sells each year are exported. About 2.5 million bottles are sold on markets in Eastern Europe.
Tokaj Kereskedőház is supplied by more than 2,000 winegrowers in the Tokaj region.
