The trains were originally made for the Austrian railways ÖBB but were rejected purportedly on technical concerns. The first Talent train has already arrived in Hungary and the rest will be delivered by year-end, daily Népszabadság said. Bombardier, who last year lost a scandal-ridden MÁV bid battle against Swiss Stadler for 30+30 trains, worth some Ft 200 billion, won the contract after the Hungarian railway company unexpectedly called a tender with a two-day notice to match its offer for the ten trains turned down by ÖBB.
