Hungarian company wins contract for USD 300 mln Indonesian e-toll system

A Hungarian company has won a contract to set up an electronic toll system worth more than USD 300 mln in Indonesia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a post on Facebook on Saturday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The contract, "one of the largest scale Hungarian technology exports ever," "is more clear proof that Hungarian technology is competitive at the global level," Szijjártó said.

"We're proud of Roatex Zrt's success and happy that we could help them on their way," he added.

In a press release issued earlier, Roatex said it won the contract to implement and operate the multi-lane free-flow e-toll system in a public-private partnership.

The first phase of the project will take one year to complete and the concession will run for 10 years, Roatex said.

Roatex said Hungary's national toll company NÚSZ cooperated with it on the project and it is backed by MFB Invest, an arm of the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB).
