Both in euro and in volume terms, imports rose at a slightly higher pace than exports for the first time since January, and the pace of both exports and imports growth slowed.

The January-April trade surplus was €2.551 billion, up from €1.912 billion one year earlier, and was also unchanged from the first reading released on June 9.

The April surplus rose from €456m in April 2010, but narrowed after rising to new peaks in the previous two months.

April exports rose 13.3% in euro terms and rose 9.3% in volume terms from a year earlier. Imports rose 14.0% in euro terms and rose 10.0% in volumes. Both paces were revised slightly up from a first reading.

Hungary had a trade surplus of €5.525 billion for the full year of 2010, up from a €3.74 billion surplus in 2009.
