Gergely Gulyás would not comment on the scale or the location of the investment until the sale of the plot for the stadium is closed, “in several days”. He added that the government had “found the best location possible” for the sporting event.
Gulyás noted that the Papp László stadium in Budapest is in use most days of the year, and a stadium of similar size could operate profitably as well as draw more events to the capital. The government has also decided on the construction of a Hungarian pavilion for the World Expo in Dubai next year, Gulyás said.
