Turkey’s unemployment rate dropped unexpected in February, after a strong rise in the previous month, the Ankara-based Statistical Institute reported on Wednesday. The unadjusted jobless rate dipped to 10.5% from January’s 10.6%. Economists had forecast the figure to climb to 10.8%. A year ago, the rate was 10.4%. The youth unemployment rate also eased to 20.4% from 20.7%. The number of unemployed increased by 163,000 persons from the same period last year to total 2.88 million. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate decreased to 9.2% from 9.4%.
