Until today, 850 employees of Magyar Telekom was given layoff notices under staff reduction plan, which was announced in November about cutting staff by 15% by the end of 2008. But 150 of the 850 chose to be included on the company’s inactive list Magyar Telekom said. With this action layoffs for this year has not finished, but the total number of dismissed personnel would not exceed the previously announced number. Magyar Telekom announced in November that it plans to make the 15% cut in its employees of 12,300, which initially takes place at Magyar Telekom itself, and includes a 38% reduction in management positions.
