The complex will consist of a railway, a high-speed train and a bus station with a park and drive facility for some 1,500 cars. The plan includes a large retail center.
Construction is scheduled to start at the beginning of June this year, TriGranit told MTI on Wednesday. The first phase of the hub and the retail center is to be opened in May 2012.
Representatives of TriGranit and PKP received the environmental licence on Wednesday as part of a series of events dedicated to Polish-Hungarian friendship in Poznan. The public presentation of the project was attended by Hungarian President Pál Schmitt.
The new transport hub and shopping center will be built on an area of 93,000sqm, the total gross leasable area for the two phases is about 60,000sqm.
PKP selected TriGranit out of 8 applicants for the development. Under the agreement signed earlier this week, PKP will contribute the 4-hectare site as well as the necessary licences to the project while Trigranit will provide construction plans and secure funding.
