Plans for a 250 megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) plant to be built in the autonomous region of western Spain known as Extremadura were recently approved by the local government. According to local media, French company Dhamma Energy is behind the project, which is estimated to be about €270 million. The exact location of the project will be in the Royanejos municipality, where is, like much of Spain, a great potential for solar energy generation with more than 3,200 hours of sunshine in every year.
