Hungarian construction company KÉSz inaugurated a HUF 3.5 billion business hotel and conference center in Kecskemet on Thursday. The hotel has 136 rooms and a conference room with a capacity for 450. It will be operated by a unit of New York-based Starwood Hotels and Resorts as a “Four Points by Sheraton.” Starwood also operates the exclusive Le Meridien in the center of Budapest. KÉSz won a HUF 723 million European Union grant for the investment, which involved converting and expanding the company’s own local office building. German carmaker Daimler opened a big plant in Kecskemet last year, turning the city into a regional center for the automotive industry.
