The brand, produced by Heineken Hungária, said the launches are aimed at responding to changing consumer preferences and broadening the occasions for beer consumption.

According to the company, the flavored beer segment grew by 12% in 2025, reflecting rising demand for new taste combinations. Heineken Hungária said it is seeking to address that trend with innovations that make the category more accessible to a wider audience.

The new Soproni Citrus Szűretlen lager combines the full-bodied character of an unfiltered lager with lemon and lime notes. The company said citrus flavors consistently rank among the most popular pairings in taste tests, particularly among young adults. Lemon has long been associated with wheat beers, while lemon and lime dominate Hungary’s alcohol-free radler segment.

Alongside the citrus lager, Soproni is launching Soproni Balatoni Nyár, a 0.0% alcohol watermelon-lime flavored drink designed to evoke the atmosphere of summer by Lake Balaton. The company said the new product targets consumers seeking refreshing, alcohol-free alternatives while retaining the social experience associated with beer.

“The Soproni brand has always focused on innovation throughout its history,” said Katalin Perényi, marketing director at Heineken Hungária. “Our goal is to bring new products to market that make the beer experience even more accessible, adding a sense of playfulness and freshness to the category.”

She added that the 0.0% radler inspired by Lake Balaton and the 4% alcohol Citrus Szűretlen lager provide a light, refreshing twist to the company’s portfolio, complementing existing products such as Soproni Meggy Ale.

The new products will be available on store shelves nationwide in the coming weeks, the company said.
