The event closed with a sabrage of a nine-liter (Salmanazar) bottle of La Cuvée Brut, which in this size can also only be tasted here in the country.
At the White Raven, the Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle N°24 magnum was unveiled, making its European debut at the skybar. The highlight of the evening was the sabrage of the nine-liter La Cuvée Brut, accompanied by light dishes paired with the champagnes and the panorama of Buda.
The uniqueness of Grand Siècle N°24 lies in the fact that it does not represent a single vintage, but a blend of three years (2007 – 60%, 2006 – 20%, 2004 – 20%) sourced from the best Grand Cru vineyards. Its chardonnay dominance is complemented by the roundness of pinot noir, while at least 10 years of lees aging (14 years in magnum) gives the wine exceptional structure and aromatic depth, White Raven says.
The magnum presented at White Raven combines refined elegance with freshness and maturity – vibrant and layered at the same time. Representing the champagne house, Marine Roupsy, regional export manager of Laurent-Perrier, introduced the history of the house, the philosophy of Grand Siècle, and the vision behind Iteration N°24.
“Budapest and the unparalleled panorama of the White Raven provide a worthy backdrop for us to present the Grand Siècle N°24 magnum in Europe for the first time. The philosophy of Laurent-Perrier is both simple and bold: by blending three exceptional vintages, we create the harmony of the perfect year. This experience is now also available in Hungary – exclusively here at the White Raven,” she said.
The Grand Siècle N°24 pairs particularly well with noble fish, shellfish, and white meats, making it an ideal companion for fine dining dishes or as part of an elegant, light menu.
“This year exceeded all our expectations; we reached a new level again. More and more guests return for the perfectly connected experience of the kitchen and bar, and tables are available only by reservation. A huge success was our art cocktail duo created in collaboration with the Anna Amélie brand, and our signature cocktails, along with the newly introduced, extremely photogenic ‘snap & sip’ cocktails, including our drink served in a jellyfish glass, were very popular again this year. We are especially proud that certain Laurent-Perrier cuvées are available in Hungary exclusively at White Raven. Next year, we will raise the bar even higher,” said Tamás Somlai, Hilton Budapest’s director of gastronomy.
The White Raven menu is designed primarily around this year’s signature cocktails: clean, light yet characterful dishes accompany the drinks, meant not to cover but to highlight the cocktail experience.
The fall refresh introduced new seasonal dishes – such as chicken pho soup, pumpkin salad, and Asian rolls – alongside established favorites. The selection has been consciously developed to pair perfectly with the high-quality champagne list.
Depending on the weather, the skybar is expected to welcome guests until the end of October.
