Foreign tourist arrivals in Turkey increased at a notably slower pace in April, preliminary data released by the country’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed Friday. The number of foreign tourists visiting the country increased 13% from last year to around 2.45 million in April, which was markedly slower than the 26% growth recorded in March and February’s 27%. However, the number of visitors from the Americas climbed 35.25% annually, and arrivals from Asian countries advanced 53.7%, the ministry said. As much as 5.6% of the total visitors were excursionist during the month, it said.
