Some 3,800 mediation cases brought before arbitration board in 2014

Last year, some 3,800 matters were brought before the Budapest Arbitration Board (BBT), an alternative forum for solving disputes that operates parallel to the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK), chairman György Baranovszky said today.

The number was up 15% from 2013, Baranovszky said. The number of requests for consultation reached approximately 5,000, he added.

Parties in about half of the cases end up reaching an agreement, he said.
