A consortium led by STRABAG-MML has won a tender to rebuild Budapest’s Baross Square at the capital’s Keleti railway station with a bid of HUF 4.2 billion, the latest issue of the Public Procurement Gazette shows.
A consortium led by COLAS K2D was the runner-up in the tender with a bid of HUF 5 billion. The highest bid was HUF 7 billion, just under the Budapest Public Transport Company’s (BKV) estimate for the project of HUF 7.2 billion. Other bidders included Swietelsky Magyarorszag, PORR Epitesi and a consortium led by Bilfinger-Berger Civil Hungaria.
STRABAG-MML’s STRA-MASZ 2011 consortium has 80 weeks to complete the reconstruction.
