Had it not been for the levy, profits would have risen, Lakatos said.

Total assets rose 3% to HUF 36 billion. Stock of deposits increased 4% to HUF 28 billion and lending stock climbed 6% to HUF 15 billion. Corporate lending stock came to HUF 11.6 billion and retail lending stock to HUF 2.9 billion at the end of 2010.

The bank has 19,000 retail and corporate clients, up 20% from two years earlier, Lakatos said.

This year, the bank plans to raise total assets by 6.9%.
