Sándor Csányi, president of the MLSz said that HUF 238 billion would be invested into sport by 2020. From this amount HUF 106.46 billion would be state funding between 2011 and 2014, which would be spend on renovation, development and maintenance of the stadiums.
According to the financial plans until 2020, MLSz would double its revenues: from the current HUF 1.26 billion it plans top collect HUF 3 billion by 2017. The football association is also planning to double earnings from broadcasting license fees of international fixtures, which currently only brings HUF 0.63 billion. Revenues from the license of championship matches would also be increased to HUF 2.2 billion by 2018 instead of last year’s HUF 1.4 billion.
MLSz unveiled its plans to have 3,000 spectators on average at championship games instead of last year’s 2800. Also they are planning to have 25,000 spectators on the matches of the national team instead of the 8,000 spectators of last year. Also they are planning to increase the number of registered footballers from the current 85,000 to 160,000.
Hungary is planning to become the host to international events, especially youth competitions. Between 2015 and 2020 Hungary will strive to win the organizing rights of the U21 European Championship.
