The 308-meter, 9,000-ton span was floated into place on eight barges over two days in an unprecedented engineering feat for Hungary, Tibor Szalay said. The bridge, which is 1,700 meters long including the ramps, will be completed by the end of June. It is being built by a consortium of Vegyépszer Zrt and Hídépítő Zrt. As many as 200 engineers and laborers are working at the site. The bridge is part of the planned M8 motorway.
