The management of Hungarian national carrier Malev on Friday said it reached a long-term agreement on a new collective contract after talks late Thursday with unions of pilots and flight crew.
The agreement was reached after several months of talks.
The new collective contract affects general rules for all of the airline’s workers as well as rest periods for pilots and flight crew, crisis management and non-wage compensation.
The rest periods were a key issue for pilots and flight crew, who held a two-hour warning strike on Wednesday.
When asked by MTI, the communications directors for Malev and for pilots union HUNALPA declined to reveal the details of the contract, based on a decision taken by mutual agreement.
Malev cancelled the old collective contract with effect from August 1, 2010 because of cost rationalisation.
