The Public Procurement Arbitration Committee (KDB) has imposed a Ft 2 million fine on Budapest Transport (BKV) Rt because of the procurement tender for the purchase of metro cars, Magyar Hírlap reported. The Committee criticized some formal details. However, the results of the tender were not annulled and were thus allowed to continue to the next round. Five bidders are still in the competition: the syndicate of French Alstom and Hungarian Ganz Transelektro, French Bombardier, South-Korean Hanwa-Rotem, Russian Metrovagonmas and Siemens of Germany. The procedure was initiated by one of the applicants dropped in the pre-qualification round.
