VERDI CELEBRATION – OPERA GALA
A tribute to the greatest composer of Italian Romantic music, Giuseppe Verdi, on the 120th anniversary of his death. The gala will include the exuberant melodies of Don Carlos, Traviata, Rigoletto, Sicilian Vespers, Attila, The Haramites, The Masked Ball, Nabucco, Ernani, Luisa Miller, Aida and many others. Featuring Arturo Chacón Cruz (tenor), Maria Grazia Schiavo (soprano), Mihály Kálmándy (baritone), the Orchestra and Choir of the Hungarian State Opera House. Conductor: Balázs Kocsár.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
The setting is 20th century Anatevka, a village of Jews and Russians, where the life of the community is defined by religion and all-embracing traditions. Here lives Tevye, the milkman, with his wife, Golde, and their five daughters. The father does his utmost to keep the family together and marry his daughters according to tradition… The musical, based on the short stories by Aléchem Solom, is a production of the Budapest Operetta Theater.
