EBRD chairman Sir Suma Chakrabarti announced the conference on boosting growth potential in new European Union Member States, as well as its host, at the opening of the EBRDʼs annual meeting in London yesterday.
“We consider it an honour to be able to host the meeting, and will gladly share the Hungarian experience gained in the area of economic development,” said National Economy Minister Mihály Varga.
The statement noted that Hungary had supported the re-election of Sir Chakrabarti to a second four-year term as EBRD chairman at the meeting.
Since 1991, the EBRD has contributed €2.7 billion in financing for the support of 171 development programs in Hungary.
