Szabó is not new to Microsoft, as he joined the company more than six years ago, where he first worked as regional director of Microsoft's Hungary retail business, and then as director of the corporate and partnership business. In his latter position, he was responsible for the management of Microsoft's partner ecosystem in Hungary and delivering digital transformation in the small and medium corporate market segment.
The company's new country manager is an experienced business leader who spent 17 years at Unilever before joining Microsoft, successfully implementing a paradigm-shifting reorganization in the Adriatic Sea, including the reorganization of the distribution/logistics network in the region. After joining Microsoft, he served in the geographical regrouping of the Czech-Slovak-Hungarian territory in the retail and asset sales department.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Microsoft Hungary. The development of digital capabilities has never been more urgent and important in Hungary than today. The daily operation and success of every organization and company depend on how strongly they are able to rely on modern digital technologies and on their ability to adapt to unexpected situations that are becoming more frequent these days. Rethinking business, work habits, and our way of life is more relevant than ever. I want to help our customers as effectively as possible with Microsoft solutions throughout their digitalization journey," Péter Szabó regarding his appointment.
His predecessor, Chris Mattheisen, is leaving Microsoft Hungary but will work to make the transition as smooth as possible until the end of July.
