The strongest upward push on annual inflation in August came from a 14.4% rise in the harmonized index of the transport group, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages with a 13.3% rise and alcoholic beverages and tobacco with a 5.5% increase.
On a monthly comparison basis, HICP edged up 0.7% in August, after increasing 0.6% in July.
Albania's non-harmonized consumer price inflation increased by 8% year-on-year in August, after rising by 7.5% the previous month, the statistics institute said earlier this month.
