The ruling is not final, with both the prosecution and defense appealing.

Police found around 3 kg of cocaine, HUF 8 mln and EUR 22,600 in cash during a raid on the man’s apartment in Tatabánya, northwestern Hungary.

The court ordered the confiscation of the seized money. According to the report, the cash and drugs together amounted to approximately HUF 17 mln.

The court found that the man had no declared employment or lawful income and made his living from selling drugs. He also used drugs himself.

The prosecutor appealed for a tougher sentence, while the defendant and his lawyer sought acquittal or, alternatively, a reduced sentence.
