Ruszin-Szendi said he had received an update from the hospital and expressed hope that the pilot would eventually be able to fly again.
“It is his greatest wish and we cannot wish him otherwise,” the minister said.
The Hungarian military aircraft crashed near Szolnok in eastern Hungary. The pilot successfully ejected from the jet but was hospitalized with a spinal injury.
As the BBJ reported earlier, the aircraft took off from Kecskemét and crashed on the premises of the MH Kiss József 86th Helicopter Brigade in Szolnok on Monday.
