According to a report by Forbes, the launch follows an exclusive agreement between Popeyes and Fusion Group Zrt., which will oversee the brand’s entry into Hungary.

The company’s local subsidiary, Fusion-BP Restaurants Kft., will serve as Popeyes’ exclusive developer and operator in the country. Fusion Group, founded in 1990, has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry and also operates the Burger King chain in Hungary.

Popeyes is bringing its signature Cajun-inspired menu to the Hungarian capital, highlighted by its iconic chicken sandwich, which since its 2019 debut has been considered one of the most successful quick-service restaurant launches in the United States.

The Budapest opening marks another milestone in Popeyes’ rapid European expansion, which has already included successful market entries in Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Romania, France, the Czech Republic and Italy.

The move adds further momentum to the city’s fast-growing quick-service dining scene, with Fusion Group betting that Hungarian consumers will embrace the same bold flavors that have fueled Popeyes’ global rise.
