Average rents increased by 1.8% in July compared to the previous month, and in Budapest, the increase was 1.4%.
“On an annual level, the national average rents increased by 10.3%,” said László Balogh, the leading economic expert of ingatlan.com.
He noted that rents increased at a somewhat slower pace in the capital, by 9.3% compared to a year earlier.
“The start of the subletting season may have played a role in the increase in rents, as since the announcement of the admission score limits, demand has increased by 14% compared to last year,” he added, referring to the large number of university students looking for a place to live after learning that they got accepted to a higher education institution of their choice.
