Panasonic South-East Europe, the successor of Panasonic Magyarország, established in 1994, was wound up in April. A year earlier Panasonic established a branch in Hungary. The unit and its staff have been taken over by the branch of Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH South-East Europe.
Panasonic will be operating all its former units in Eastern Europe as branches.
Panasonic’s Hungarian branch has 103 staff and serves as a regional supply center for ten countries. It had revenue of HUF 29.6 billion in 2009, down from HUF 36.5 billion in 2008 and HUF 43.6 billion in 2007, according to Opten, which compiles data on companies.
