Gov't Plans to Expand Toll Roads

The Ministry of Construction and Transportation would rewrite the rules of road tolls, hvg.hu reports, according to a draft published on the government's website on Friday, giving almost a full week for social consultation until September 1.

In the impact assessment, the ministry calculates that HUF 150.7 billion in additional revenue would come in this way yearly.

The list of toll road sections is expected to be expanded, including, the section of the M0 motorway between M1 and M5 and M4 and M3, the M44 from the Lakitelek/Tiszakécske (115 km southeast of Budapest) junction to Békéscsaba (205 km southeast), the section of the M30 between Miskolc (180 km northeast) north and Miskolc south, between the M6 ​​Bátaszék (160 km south) and the M6-M60 interchange, the M4 from Jászberény (75 km east of Budapest) to north Abony (90 km southeast) and from east Abony to west Szolnok (105 km southeast), and the M76 from Balatonszentgyörgy (175 km southwest) to Keszthely-Fenékpuszta (185 km southwest).
