Minister of Finance Mihály Varga has acknowledged S&P Global Ratings' affirmation of Hungary's "BBB-" sovereign rating with a stable outlook at a scheduled review on Friday, according to a video message on his Facebook page.

Varga noted that S&P had forecast that the economy would rebound in 2024 and could grow by more than 3% in 2025.

The rating agency's analysis also points to Hungary's attractiveness for foreign investment, augurs a falling jobless rate and puts the current account in surplus while acknowledging the stability of the banking system, the favorable structure of state debt, and its tested financing, he said.
