Business Chamber Confidence Index Falls in January

The quarterly business confidence index of the Economic Research Institute (GVI) of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) fell to 13 points in January from 21 in October, MKIK said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The measure of companies' assessment of the current business situation fell to 29 points from 44 during the period.

The gauge of outlooks for their businesses slipped to 31 points from 37.

The indicator of uncertainty climbed to 39 points from 36.

The survey results were based on responses from 350 managers.
