Report: Diesel prices may decrease

Vehicle gas prices in Hungary are not expected to change, while the price of diesel may fall by HUF 2-3 on Wednesday, economy research institute GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt. said in a report yesterday.

According to the report, vehicle gas prices are expected to stagnate at HUF 384 per liter, while diesel prices will fall to HUF 361-363 per liter. Last week, the price of Brent spot crude oil fluctuated between $54-$57, and the average weekly oil prices decreased by 3.5%.

Economic experts noted that the number of oil drilling stations has increased in every oil drilling region, such as in the United States where crude oil drilling increased by twenty-one. According to the report, the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program will likely increase market supply.

International news agency Reuters noted that in the Mediterranean market zones, the price of premium unleaded gasoline increased by 0.3%, while diesel fell by 2.5% from July 20-27. In the North-Western-European and Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) zones, premium unleaded gasoline fell by 1.4-1.1%, while diesel dropped by 2.6-3.0 %. The weekly exchange rate of HUF to USD in the period of July 20-27 reached HUF 283.5.
