Competition

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) fined Posta Szervíz HUF 12.45 million on charges of misleading advertising and false attribution of medicinal health effects to its LPA Bio-Actif product, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

According to GVH, the company made misleading statements about the general health effects of its product, as well as about its laboratory testing, in the promotional materials distributed from January 2013 - December 2014, MTI said.

In accordance with strict European Union regulations, GVH said, advertising of food products stipulate that health effects cannot be attributed to such products and health claims can only be made within narrow limits, MTI reported.
