Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the United States cleared Hungary’s system for ensuring the safety of food by passing the scrutiny by FSIS, Hungary’s Ministry of Agriculture said this morning, according to news agency MTI.

The FSIS visited the Agriculture Ministry, food safety authority NÉBIH, laboratories and a number of companies licensed for export during an audit in Hungary between June 17 and July 3, the ministry reportedly said.

Hungaryʼs food safety system was last cleared by the FSIS in an audit two years earlier, MTI noted.
