Household Gas, Electricity Prices Lowest in EU

Household gas and electricity prices in Hungary were the lowest in the European Union in the second half of last year, according to data compiled by the EU statistical agency Eurostat.

Household gas prices were EUR 3.5 / 100 kWh, while electricity prices were EUR 10.8 / 100 kWh during the period. In a regional comparison, household gas prices were EUR 19 / 100 kWh in the Czech Republic, EUR 5.5 in Poland and EUR 5 in Slovakia.

Household electricity prices were EUR 18.7 / 100kWh in the Czech Republic, EUR 16.5 in Poland and EUR 16.3 in Slovakia.

Household gas prices averaged EUR 11.4 / 100 kWh for the EU as a whole. Household electricity prices averaged EUR 28.4 / 100kWh.
