DonaDome Kereskedelmi and Halmi út 46 received a fine of HUF 20 million apiece from the National Bank of Hungary on charges of failing to act after their combined stakes in property developer BIF passed the 33% threshold required for a takeover offer, Hungarian news agency MTI reported yesterday.

According to the central bankʼs announcement, it found the two companies acted in concert when acquiring their BIF stakes, thus the sum of their shares apply to the threshold, MTI reported.

The stakes reached as much as 34.47% in the spring, but fell under the threshold at the end of April, MTI added, based on the central bank’s announcement.
