Agricultural Producer Prices Rise 41.4% y.o.y. in Dec

Farmgate prices in Hungary rose 41.4% year-on-year in December, slowing for the third month in a row, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) this week.

Crop prices climbed 30.6%, with grain prices jumping 43.1% and industrial crop prices up by 14.4%.

Vegetable prices increased 35.1%, while fruit prices edged up 1.2%.

The price of livestock and animal products climbed 68%, as costs for live animals rose 65.7%, and animal products grew 72.3%.

Farmgate Prices up 49.7% in 2022

For the full year, farmgate prices rose 49.7%.

Crop prices increased 51.5%, and the cost of livestock and animal products climbed 45.6% in 2022.
