Over 150,000 Bookings Made in Capital Over F1 Weekend

More than 150,000 bookings have been made at tourism accommodations in the capital for the weekend, when the Hungaroring track, on the outskirts of Budapest, will host the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Over 70% of the bookings were made by foreign guests, the agency said. More than 14,000 came from U.K. nationals, 7,000 from Germans, 7,000 from the Dutch, and over 5,500 from Polish citizens.

About 58% of the bookings are at four-star hotels and 12% are at five-star hotels.
