More than 1 million passengers use Budapest Airport in July

Passenger numbers at Budapestʼs Liszt Ferenc International Airport exceeded 1 million in July, breaking a record based on monthly figures, a press release said on Friday. The first half of the year saw approximately a 12% year-on-year rise, which amounts to almost half a million passengers.
Last year the airport served 9,155,000 passengers. Hungary’s low-cost airline Wizz Air, which acts as the country’s “de facto” national carrier, has been growing continuously, and the number of destinations from Budapest Airport offered by the airline is expected to increase, BBJʼs recent report reveals.
