January 2022 the 5th driest on record in Hungary

January this year was the fifth driest since measurements began in 1901, the National Meteorological Service said on its Facebook page.
The primary reason for the small amount of precipitation was that almost the whole month was shaped by the northwestern, western flow through the country.
Even weather fronts that had arrived over Hungary, were not accompanied by a significant amount of rainfall.
The minimum amount of precipitation fell mainly along the axis of Southern Transdanubia - Northern Central Mountains, but the 10-25 mm in Western Transdanubia and Trans-Tisza do not count much.
