Czech Jobless Rate Down in April

The Czech unemployment rate edged down to 3.7% in April, in line with market expectations and from 3.9% in the previous month, according to data released by the country's Labor Office on Friday.
It marked the lowest reading since December 2023, as the number of unemployed persons decreased by 8,545 month-on-month to 280,078 and increased by 18,395 from the same period in the previous year.
Meanwhile, the number of vacant positions dropped slightly, reaching just over 268,000. The decrease was mainly due to the start of seasonal work.
