Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal welcomes new members

Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal has announced the appointment of a new managing partner and new law firm member, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal. 

Dr. Zoltán Várszegi (46) the former deputy of Dr. László Réti (60) is appointed the new managing partner of the Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal, a Budapest law firm with 47 practising lawyers. 

Várszegi started his career as a trainee lawyer, later he worked as a bank lawyer and then he joined PwC’s tax department. He has been working with the law firm since 2000. In recent years he has been involved in the management of the firm, beside László Réti.

His professional activities are mainly focused on the development of international corporate structures, energy law transactions, civil lawsuits and tax litigation. Recently, he has gained a reputation for representing his clients before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

As of July 1, Dr. Zoltán Martonyi (41) has joined the Law Firm as a partner, returning to the place of his first traineeship after 22 years. Martonyi started his legal career at Szecskay Law Office and then continued at Linklatersʼ Budapest and London offices. Between 2004 and 2008, he worked at Martonyi and Kajtár Baker & McKenzie as a partner.

He led Baker & McKenzieʼs bank, financial and capital markets group from 2006. He founded his own law firm in 2008. In recent years, he has been the leading legal adviser in the most significant finance and capital market transactions. As partner of Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal, he will primarily focus on developing the corporate transaction and banking, financial and capital market business with a view to the Central and Eastern European region.

László Réti and György Antall started their cooperation as lawyers in 1987. Both will continue to work at the law firm. 

Réti, Antall & Partners Law Firm is a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited, each member of which is a separate legal entity providing assurance, consulting, tax or legal services.
