Andrea Bártfai-Mager, Hungaryʼs minister without portfolio in charge of managing state assets, has appointed György Schamschula CEO of state-owned postal company Magyar Posta, national news agency MTI reported Wednesday.

Schamschula has more than 20 years of finance, banking and business management experience both in Hungary and abroad, the minister said in a statement.

Schamschula worked in financial management in the United States between 2005 and 2012, first for Landmark Group, then for consultancy Deloitte. He oversaw the establishment of a capital financing program at Magyar Export-Import Bank from 2012 until 2017, and served as CEO of leasing company Takarék Lízing from September last year.

Schamschula will replace Zoltán Illés, who is leaving his post by mutual consent.

The minister acknowledged Illésʼs work to stabilize Magyar Postaʼs operation, make upgrades, and put the companyʼs package delivery business on the right track during his two years as CEO.
