Independent law firm Kinstellar has announced that Gábor Gelencsér has joined the Budapest office as partner of the firm’s Hungarian M&A & Corporate practice, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Gábor Gelencsér

Gábor Gelencsér is an expert in corporate/M&A transactions, with more than 15 years of experience handling a diverse range of cross-border as well as domestic corporate transactions, including management and oversight of numerous mergers, joint ventures, due diligence exercises and organizational restructurings related to a number of industries and sectors, including real estate, telecoms and financial institutions.

The expertʼs practice and focus covers the entire spectrum of private and public M&As: cross-border and domestic share deals, asset deals both on the selling and buying side, private equity transactions, public takeovers, mergers/demergers, cross-border mergers, restructurings, joint ventures, W&I insurance matters, venture capital fund establishments, and high-value and high-profile deals.

Prior to joining Kinstellar, Gelencsér worked as senior counsel at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang Ormai & Partners in Budapest, having previously been seconded to the firm’s London office.

Gelencsér has been recognized by the main international legal directories Chambers and Legal 500 as one of the leading lawyers in Hungary for corporate/M&A matters. In the most recent editions, his clients have described him as a “very hard-working” lawyer, who is “talented and particularly smart, with a pragmatic and realistic approach.” He is also described as “uncompromising when it comes to protecting the best interests of his clients” and “standing out for his level of attention and commercial understanding.”

The newly appointed Kinstellar partner earned an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from Central European University in Budapest, and holds a J.D. degree from the University of Pécs. He speaks Hungarian, English and German, and is admitted to the Budapest Bar.

“We are delighted that Gábor has joined our firm. Gábor’s skill set, client relationships and experience representing both multinational corporations and Hungarian companies in complex domestic and cross-border transactions aligns with our focus to continue to expand our premier corporate and private equity M&A practice, both in Budapest and regionally,” said Csilla Andrékó, managing partner in Hungary at Kinstellar. “Gáborʼs arrival will enhance the continued growth of Kinstellar’s M&A capabilities and will help us focus more on Hungarian M&A deals. We welcome him to the team and have no doubt that Gábor will make a significant contribution to the growth and future development of our corporate M&A practice.”
